This February we went on a mini-holiday in rural Portugal and visited the area surrounding Castelo Branco.
Not unusual for this time of year, it was quite cold, with temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius. There was snow on the mountain tops.
Frequent rain keeps the area nice and green during winter. During summer time, it gets extremely dry and hot.
